Eighty-six year old Jo Laan from the village Beemster has a fascination for donkeys. His four animals sleep in a shed in his garden. During the day however, they are sharing the house with him. Jaap, the largest of the four donkeys, is able to open the backdoor with its snout. At any given moment he can enter the house. The rest of the animals will usually quickly follow.
What is it like to share the house with donkeys?
This series shows the extent of Jo Laan’s love for his donkeys and how the donkeys deal with life in a house. The focus is on the interaction, or lack thereof, between man and animal.
