This photo series shows young and talented acrobats from Sierra Leone and Liberia who have little opportunities in their countries of origin. They came to Gambia and try to make a living by performing for tourists.

They don’t have access to a gym or any sports goods and instead practise in the streets. Doing so, they make use of their surroundings , in a very inventive way. The kids in the neighborhood watch with admiration.

In turn, the acrobats watch many talent shows to study acrobatic movements and styles. Just like their big idols on TV did before them, these acrobats dream about achieving international fame and transcending their situation.
